by | Apr 11, 2022

(EliteLikeYou)The new trend or phenomenon of quiet quitting is taking over social media, however, many people still haven’t heard of it.

After the pandemic, many people lost their jobs or were furloughed. Even if they got their jobs back eventually, many people became disillusioned. Some People who had built a career over the past 10 to 15 years were discarded like trash.

Many people became angry and decided to do something about it…

When Did Quiet Quitting Become a Thing?

After all, this occurred,  many people began moving to different cities and starting new jobs where they felt appreciated. Many found positions where they were making double and triple their previous salaries and were treated with respect.

Others quit their jobs altogether during what was called the Great Resignation, the nation’s ‘quit rate’ actually hit a 20-year high! Some people started new businesses, retired, or decided to Netflix and chill.

However, many people are coming to the realization, that they really liked working remotely. Or they enjoyed time with loved ones, they began to appreciate what is really important in life is FAMILY and Freedom.

But the reality is, that we live in a world where people have to make money to survive, so people are quietly quitting.

No, You’re Not REALLY Quitting!

People are not really quitting. They are just doing the bare minimum in their job so they don’t get fired, but they are not crazy hustling as they did before.

Many people have worked 10-12 hour days in the hopes of climbing that cooperate ladder or being seen as the go-getter. However, people are not simply interested in doing that anymore.

Instead of getting to work an hour early, many are deciding to get to work a few minutes earlier. Rather than spending days on a project, some are choosing to spend a few hours. Doing just enough not to get fired.

Also, many people have side hustles or online businesses they are devoting themselves to.

Many 9-5’rs are envisioning the day when they can work from their laptop on a beach rather than the mundane existence of being trapped in a cubical every day.
